It was once said, if it does not bring you peace, profit or purpose, then don’t give it your TIME, energy or attention.

Time is our most valuable asset.

When we are young, we are time billionaires, we like to think we have all the time in the world. Too many of us fail to grasp the value of this precious asset until it’s no longer there.

So, how are we using our time?

Whether you are young or old, rich or poor, we are all equally blessed with 86 400 seconds per day. Are we effectively using those 86 400 seconds per day?

We would be wise to treat time as our ultimate currency – it’s all we have and we can never get it back.

When it comes to learning a new skill, for many there is simply no time, yet we easily find time for Social Media or watching Netflix. In itself there is nothing wrong with either, BUT they are time thieves and need to be managed.

Life is about choices, we must stop blaming the lack of opportunities, or the lack of time.

Make the most of now – this is just one habit for happiness.

We can use our time to look better (exercise & care) – feel better (healthy choices & meditation) – earn better (improve our skills).

Do not spend time thinking about anything opposite to what you want – that’s an example of a time waster.

You will never change your life until you change something you do daily, the secret of your success is found in your daily routine, where are you focusing your time?

A skill that will pay forever, is simply effectively managing the time your have been blessed with.

All work and no play only ever leads to exhaustion and unhappiness, therefore managing the EVENTS during your day better, will give you extra time to spend on yourself, or with the one’s closest to you.

If we give ourselves one week to clean our home, it will take us one week however if we give ourselves two hours to do it, it will take us only two hours. The trick is the planning…

The same applies to our goals and objectives, we can build a new life by creating more urgency in our present life, by effectively managing our time and our EVENTS.

Stephen Covey’s time management matrix is a framework for organizing our time and prioritizing tasks with the emphasis specifically on important tasks, tasks which move us closer to our goals and values.

This model uses a four-quadrant system to help one categorize each task, responsibility and facet of our life based on urgency and importance.

The objective of using this method is for you to systematically focus on your tasks, in order of importance and get through your day more easily, with les distractions and more accomplishments, and it will STOP procrastination

How can a simple To-Do list help us in our business and daily life you might ask?

Consider this…

Do you often feel completely overwhelmed with the amount of tasks on hand? Are you guilty of forgetting to do things that are important? Do you find people chasing after you to get things done? Struggling to keep up with deadlines? You procrastinate on the important tasks?

No, you are not abnormal, you don’t need to see a doctor.

There are many who are similarly challenged on a daily basis, not only in the workplace, so too in their personal lives.

The simple fact is that a To-Do List that can help you to keep your life and work more organised and free up time for the important stuff.

A simple piece of paper with tasks organised in order of priority is all you need.

One of the most important reasons you should use a To-Do List is that it will help you stay organised.

When you complete a task, you can cross it off your list. This gives you a sense of progress and achievement, something you’ll lack if you’re always rushing from one task to the next.

A To-Do List allows us to increase productivity, prevents us from forgetting things, helps prioritise tasks, our time is used more wisely, so too does it improve time management.’

Either run the day or the day will run you!

Its not about better time management, it’s about better self-management – and the TIME is NOW!

  1. I find that I have done most of my tasks but they are always incomplete as I get tired physically, maybe I put too much to be done in a day so cannot reach my goal.

  2. I have implemented a note system, but I still find myself, jumping between tasks,
I need to enable people in my team, once i have done that, I feel I can more effectively utilize my to do list

  3. I set up a to do list for myself. I don’t finish the list but if I did 80% of my to do list, that a win for me.
The things I did not finish on the day takes top spot on my to do list for the next day.

  4. “You will never change your life until you change something you do daily” THIS IS POWERFUL.

  5. I am guided by my operations and demand of the day. Really need to find time (pun intended) to dissect where stagnate.
