“Rock bottom will teach you more than mountain tops ever will.”

No matter who you are, or what your circumstances, you will see, feel & experience the truth in this statement, throughout your life.

Sure, life is much easier when things are going well, least resistance and easy-peasy. There are those times, where everything is at is should be, and it’s great, but we make the mistake of thinking it’ll last. If you’ve experienced enough of LIFE, you know that it never does…. If you’re still too young or inexperienced and are only moderately scarred thus far, thank you’re lucky stars!

But realise this and take it as the truth. As you’ll experience the lows and hit ‘Rock Bottom”, it will humble you. Embrace that humility, we need it to stay grounded. It will also strengthen your resolve, bolster your endurance and build your strength! This is the place and these are the moments where we learn and grow the most as individuals. It prepares us and forges us for the next challenge we have to face.

Be brave, endure and find the lesson in it.

There is a reason you had to go through this.

The lesson will serve you throughout your life.

  1. This just reminded me of Maya Angelou’s poem, Still I Rise…
“Leaving behind nights of terror and fear, I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
    I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
    I rise
    I rise
    I rise.”

  2. This article has reminded me that we learn nothing by sweeping emotions under the rug, the best way to deal with things is to go through them. This builds character and resilience as well

  3. Learning from my mistakes has helped me to endure and build myself so that i can understand the pros and cons of my actions. I guess this also comes with maturity and life experiences.

    1. True Brenden, the mistakes I made cost me in life. But, what I learned from that experience cannot be measured.

  4. Bravery is the one thing I want to instill in my daughter, to grab every opportunity and run with it, I had to learn that myself the hard way.
